Nalpamaradi Powder is an Ayurvedic medicine used to treat skin diseases. This herbal powder is formulated based on Kerala Ayurveda tradition. It is an Ayurvedic combination of four ficus tree barks such as Athi (Cluster Fig Tree ), Ithi (Indian Laurel), Arayal ( pippala tree / peepal tree) and Peral (Banyan Tree).
Athi (Cluster Fig Tree)
Ficus racemosa, the cluster fig, red river fig or gular, is a species of plant in the family Moraceae. It is native to Australia and tropical Asia. It is a fast-growing plant with large, very rough leaves, usually attaining the size of a large shrub, although older specimens can grow quite large and gnarled.
Ithi (Indian Laurel)
Ficus microcarpa, also known as Chinese banyan, Malayan banyan, Indian laurel, curtain fig, or gajumaru, is a tree in the fig family Moraceae. It is native in a range from China through tropical Asia and the Caroline Islands to Australia.
Arayal ( pippala tree / peepal tree)
Ficus religiosa or sacred fig is a species of fig native to the Indian subcontinent and Indochina that belongs to Moraceae, the fig or mulberry family. It is also known as the bodhi tree, pippala tree, peepul tree, peepal tree, pipal tree, or ashvattha tree.
Peral (Banyan Tree).
Ficus benghalensis, commonly known as the banyan, banyan fig and Indian banyan, is a tree native to the Indian Subcontinent. Specimens in India are among the largest trees in the world by canopy coverage.
In Kerala, these are commonly used for the treatment of skin diseases, Dermatitis, Herpes, Eczema allergic skin diseases such as ring worm infestation.
Water boiled with Nalpamaram podi or Nalpamaram powder attains a light brownish red texture, mothers make use of this water for bathing as it would help to reduce pregnancy stretch marks.Water for bathing baby could also be boiled in Nalpamaram powder. How do you use Nalpamaradi powder
It can be made into a thin paste by adding warm water and can be applied all over the body, rubbed and washed off with water.
