CLIMBING NETTLE (TRAGIA INVOLUCRATA)
Tragia involucrata, the Indian stinging nettle, is a species of plant in the family Euphorbiaceae.Tragia involucrata Linn. (family: Euphorbiaceae) is a medicinal plant, which has been used for centuries in Sri Lankan Traditional Medicine as well as in the Ayurveda medical system . This plant is mainly found and used by South Asian countries such as Sri Lanka, India, and Bangladesh.
- involucrata leaf has been traditionally used to treat inflammation, wounds, eczema, scabies and skin infections. It has also been found to be effective in treating pain and bronchitis.
The above-ground part of the plant can be used to treat urinary infections such as Urinary Tract Infections, Urinary Tract Inflammations and Kidney stones. This parts of the plant can be also used for allergies and for osteoarthritis. For skin ,Kodithuva helps to reduce the pain in skin muscles. The leaves extract can be used for rheumatic disorders. This can be used to treat scurvy.
