Indicus has been used in traditional medicine in the treatment of a number of ailments such as snakebite, scorpion sting, diabetes, urinary diseases, menorrhagia, oligospermia, anorexia, fever, abdominal colic and pain, dysentery, diarrhea, cough, rheumatism, pain, inflammation, pyrosis, headache, skin diseases
Roxb (Caesalpiniaceae) Caesalpinia bonduc, commonly known as Gray Nicker, is distributed in the tropical regions of all major continents including Africa. The aqueous solution of the outer shell of the seeds of the plant traditionally is used for the relief of the symptoms of diabetes mellitus.
Caesalpinia bonducella seeds have long been used in traditional medicine in treating symptoms and ailments, including abdominal pain, colic, leprosy, fever, edema, and malaria. It is also used as a uterine stimulant, and to cleanse the uterus during the postpartum period.
