Psoralea corylifolia (Fabaceae) is an annual herb that is widely used both in Ayurvedic as well as in Chinese traditional medicine as a cardiac tonic, vasodilator, and pigment and has antitumor, antibacterial, cytotoxic, and anthelminthic effects.
The plant has been used since centuries in leukoderma, psoriasis, vitiligo, asthma, ulcers, kidney disorders, and as an aphrodisiac and an anti-inflammatory.
It is reported to contain essential oil, coumarins, alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids.Babchi oil has traditionally been used to improve the health of hair. It helps fight dandruff and control hair fall. Its nourishing properties makes it a great deep conditioner.
