Shorea Robusta or Sal tree is a large, deciduous tree found in India, Myanmar, and Nepal. It is a medicinal tree, and used in Ayurveda for thousands of years to treat variety of diseases.Shorea robusta resin is used for treating infected wounds and burns by tribals in India.Robusta resin was incoperated in soft yellow paraffin.Sal is generally used to prevent diarrhea and dysentry duw to its astringent property.
